Know No Fear is expected to continue his good run of form in the ongoing season, by succeeding in the White Rose Saddlery Amateur Riders´ Handicap (Div II) at Beverley in England on Thursday, August 16, 2012.
The going will be good to firm in the 1 mile 100 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 17:45 GMT. A total of 14 entries have been confirmed for the race, but only a few of them are in a position to fight for victory.
One of these runners is Know No Fear, who has been given a general starting price of 9 to 4 by the bookies. He does not have a very good strike rate overall, but things have really worked in his favour during the 2012 season.
The seven-year-old gelding has participated in a total of 58 events, winning eight of them. In addition to that, he finished as a runner up on 10 times whereas secured the third spot on six occasions.
The seasoned runner has participated in a couple of events at Beverley and his performances in them have been mixed. He finished as a runner up in the first one whereas dropped out of the top 10 in the other one.
In the 2012 season, the Alastair Lidderdale’s trainee took part in seven races and delivered consistent results in them. He started the year with a runner up position and followed that up with a couple of back-to-back victories.
The next three races also proved to be very good for him, as he continuously kept on challenging his rivals for a place in the top three. His most recent outing saw him secure another third place finish. He was not rated as the favourite back then, but still
gave a tough time to his opponents.
Primo Valentino’s son entered that race with a starting price of 4 to 1 and had a very good chance of winning it, as he took the lead at one stage. However, he lost momentum towards the end and dropped down a couple of places. He will need a special effort
in order to take the top spot today under young female jockey, Miss S. Birkett.
