Question:

Know a good bay area restaurant that can handle picky kids?

I moved to the bay area recently and I'm not too familiar with it yet. My family will be visiting me for a celebration and my parents will be treating me to dinner. I'd love to get a great meal out of this, but I have three siblings under 13 who are very picky eaters and I wouldn't trust any of my family members in a formal dining atmosphere. Location and price are not an issue if I can find high quality food, a casual atmosphere, and a few kid-friendly dishes.

  1. go to the old clamhouse on bayshore in san francisco  or

the elephant bar in burlingame has a kids menu

  2. try max's.

there are numerous locations around the bay area, and they have HUGE portions at a good reasonable price.

i have an EXTREMELY picky younger sister and she loves it there. as does everyone else in my family.

we have visted four of the locations: san francisco, s. sf, palo alto and redwood city.

all locations are nice, but i like the sf one the best.

its about a block away from union square.

    good luck.

  3. TAKE THEM TO MCDONALD'S

  4. Puccini & Pinetti on Ellis  in San Francisco.  They specialize in entertaining kids, and it is a nice restaurant.  Mosstly Italian, but what kid does not like pasta either plain or with some type of white, green or red sauce?  Plenty of bread too.

They even have kid parties where they teach manners (like which fork, etc.) not stuffy stuff.

I have one of the pickiest eaters.

  5. I would recommend Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, they have many locations around the bay area and are very kid-friendly.

They also have a wide variety of burger ingredients available. The closest restaurant to you would be in San Bruno, close to South San Francisco. Prices are good and atmosphere is pleasant. Hope this helps.
