Know a good but cheap photographer in the Southern California area for actor headshots?

If you do, please send me some contact info and background about the photographer. I'm trying to get into acting but I need headshots asap. And if anyones ever gotten head shots, could you please explain the experience? Where you show up, what the makeup/hair stylish do, and what poses you do...etc. Thanks! Also, if anyone has a sample resume of their acting career, could I see it? Thank you!

Absolutely do NOT sign up for Model Mayhem, lots of predators there and mostly "glamour' or nude photographers, maybe fun but definitely not the style you need for a professional actor's headshot!

"Good but cheap" is a contradiction. The good ones cost money. But you can try Craig's list if you don't want to spend tons of money. Especially in L.A. there are lots of struggling photographers starting out, and you might be able to get something for cheap or free. But check their portfolios first, none the less. You want to make sure they are decent photographers.

My Uncle used to be a photographer and he was in California at one stage. But now he has moved onto cinematography and he is really expensive for photography because he is incredibly good...

This is THE best website to communicate with photographers from all over the world! It's a lot like Myspace, and from there you can see some of their work, know their pricing and availability before you even contact them.

(You don't have to sign up to look, but if you wish to email them then you will. But it's free with no string's attached! I use it and I have worked with a great # of wonderful photographer's and model's alike.)
