  1. I use K3b, which is available in any Linux distro.  NTI has a great product for windows.  I used a trial copy of NTI to burn Knoppix, which I boot on the handful of occasions when I need to burn a CD or DVD, because it has K3b on it.  You just need to have over a gig of RAM so you can use the toram switch on boot up.

  2. if it is to copy a dvd make audio or data cd's and dvd's.

try "free easy burner" a simple fast program.

if you need to convert films .

    there's a free 30 day trial of "convertxtodvd"available.

to convert you also need a codec pack "k-lite codec pack"is free and very good.

    hope this helps.

  3. Nero Burner is very good.

    :)

  4. Cucusoft Video to DVD Creator is a good choice. It converts popular video formats such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, DV, VOB to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable or home DVD player. Any video to to VCD/DVD/SVCD is even faster than real-time.
