An ex boyfriend of mine has started a "business" and seeking "investors" stating claims that certain celebrities will be endorsing this business. People have invested money based on these claims, but he has no plan on ever developing the business, and instead decided to live in expensive condos and get new cars and take expensive trips. Anyway, now he is up to this new scam. It makes me sick and I would like to report it to someone, but unsure who or what. Who handles like investment / private securities fraud. Thanks.

  1. This is a federal crime.  You can call the FBI or the police department and advise them of what you know.  Ask to remain anonymous.  They will be able to prosecute him without your testimony if what you say is true.

  2. that is theft. call the cops.

  3. Just walk into the local station and tell them. If they dont have the means to deal with it its just going to be passed up until it gets to the right guy. They will probably get you to write a statement and then investigate whether or not he has broken any laws.

  4. just go to your local police they will know what and where to go from there

  5. If he's playing with money it could well involve some type of wire fraud and may be able to just get FBI involved. FBI probably have sections on business schemes on their websites. Or your own state websites probably have links to business schemes, bad business practices..etc.
