Question:

Know an inexpensive place to stay in Italy?

A really good friend of mine has decided to get married on the Amalfi Coast in Italy and I was hoping someone could suggest a place to stay for 7-10 days at the end of August.

We're traveling from Canada and the flights alone are expensive - we're open to camping or hostels or even a room in a house.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

  1. Hi there. Just go to http://www.scoobit.com and fill the form with the name of the city and the address of the place your friend is gonna get married into. Scoobit.com hotel search engine will find all the nearest hotels, then you can choose the one you prefer. Enjoy your stay and the wedding. Love Italian weddings BTW.

  2. If do you want, you can have a look in http://www.prontohotel.com/, here you can found ll the tradicional web search. Good luck!

  3. Hi,  I used a website called www.hostelbookers.com when I went to Italy in January.  It was a great site , it list the price, location and everything you want to know about a place you will be staying at, with reviews from other guest.  I just checked it real fast and they have place on the Amalfi coast (there seemed to be a decent B&B for 15 euros a night for a private double room) and the price goes up from there.  Hope this helps and you are smart to be booking early!

  4. very cheap

    siracusa in sicily

    www.ilrosone.com

    www.bbnaif.it

  5. It depends on what you consider inexpensive. The Amalfi Coast is a popular destination and August is the peak season.

You might try something like La Perla in  Praiano. It's relatively inexpensive (The cheapest rooms are 50 euro per night single; 90 euro per  night double) a great location accessible by car or bus. http://en.venere.com/hotels_praiano/hote...

This apartment is cheaper, but also a bit more out-of-the-way. http://en.venere.com/apartments_massa_lu...

You might also consider staying in a convent or a monastery. Some of these are very good deals, but others are about the same cost as a hotel. There's one in Sorrento: http://www.neapolitanriviera.com/culla_e... but I don't know the price. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserRevie...

There is also a hostel in Atrani (close to Amalfi) that has bus and ferry (at Amalfi) connections http://www.amalficoastweb.com/lascalinat... or another in Agerola which is inland (i.e., up the mountain) from the beaches. http://www.amalficoastweb.com/beatasolit... There's also a hostel in Sorrento, but the reviews don't sound promising: http://www.hostels.com/Reviews/Ostello-D...

Villagio Nettuno has camping facilities: http://www.villaggionettuno.it/camping.h...

  6. if many of you are going you could get a Villa. we did this in Sept. and 8 of us stayed in a Villa for 7 days for about $1000.00 a couple.  We stayed in Positano and there are tons of Villas there www.parkervilla.com is to check out If you contact the owner of this restaurant www.ristorantimediterraneo.com her English is good and she helped us get around and recommended places.
