Question:

Know any good sites with do-it-yourself wedding floral decorations?

I went a little crazy with my budget. I bought over $500 worth of roses and white lilies for my wedding. My finacee was less than impressed. To make up for the dent I made in the budget I told him I'd do the floral decorations myself and now I'm pretty sure I'm in over my head. I have to make my bouquet, four bouquets for my bridesmaids, a tossing bouquet, the pew decorations, the centerpieces and any other thing I can throw flowers on and call pretty. Can you please give me some websites with projects to make some wedding decorations using live flowers? Thanks!

  1. I'd check out www.videojug.com  They have a lot of how to  videos and then you can link to the expert's sites who dispense the info.

  2. Here is a website that might be able to help you out:

    http://www.weddingflowers-diy.com/dont_l...

Also, you should try going to youtube.com

Search for specific things like "Bridal bouquet" "Bridesmaid Bouquet" "Floral Centerpieces" You will find lots of videos that have instructions...plus it always nice to see the actual video rather than just reading the instructions.

I hope that this helps! Good luck!

  3. The lady who did my stuff for me did a wonderful job.  She used tulle to create all the pew bows.  And she took cheap vases probably from the dollar store and wrapped bows around them and then stuck the flowers in them.

I made the boutineers myself, they were easy to do.  I got floral tape and wrapped the ends and got the clasp pens that you see on broaches and wrapped those with floral tape to hold it.  Then I took cheap ribbon and tied around it.

The bouquets didn't look hard to make, I just didn't have time to do it.  I was going to use this video instruction to make mine or search google for how to make bouquets.  http://www.expertvillage.com/video/16997...

You don't have to have a tossing bouquet, it isn't necessary unless you absolutely want to keep yours.  I wouldn't make a tossing bouquet personally if i was using live flowers.

Take some of your flowers and place them in your cake.  We also put a vase of flowers near the guest signing book.
