I need a solo for a musical theatre camp and I would like a song with alot of "acting" to it. Not just a cutsy musical song. Something like Adelaide's Lament from guys and dolls. Or I Cain't Say No from Oklahoma. By the way I'm a girl, so I need a female solo.

  1. Well there is popular from wicked which is funny and for more serious acting 'im not afraid of anything' from songs for a new world .

  2. There's a song from Les Miserables called "I Dreamed a Dream". If you preform based on the lyrics, with good tone and vocal expression, you should have a good, powerful preformance. Any song with strong lyrics should be good, because lyrics give you the tone in which you are to preform.

    Good Luck!

  3. If you're going for more comedic/bubbly, there's Taylor the Latte Boy (Kristin Chenoweth covered it on one of her albums), Shy from Once Upon a Mattress, and Popular from Wicked.

If you want something more serious, anything by Jason Robert Brown is going to really showcase your acting... check out I'm Not Afraid of Anything, Stars and the Moon, I Can Do Better Than That, Still Hurting, or anything else from his shows.

    Good luck!! :)
