Know any non-profits started as a result of 9/11?

I am looking for any inspiring stories of non-profits or NGOs started as a response to 9/11. Zog Sports in NY, for example, is a charity sports league founded by a 9/11 survivor. Could be something locally focused or international - small or large. Thanks.

  1. That should be easy, because there are tons of them, especially related to firefighters and NY police groups and families.  Just Google search those keywords and check out their websites. Something like 'families or survivors of 9/11 firefighters' will work.

  2. Beyond the 11th

Peaceful Tomorrows is an organization founded by family members of those killed on September 11th who have united to turn our grief into action for peace. By developing and advocating nonviolent options and actions in the pursuit of justice, we hope to break the cycles of violence engendered by war and terrorism. Acknowledging our common experience with all people affected by violence throughout the world, we work to create a safer and more peaceful world for everyone.
