America invaded the Arab world - inflamed extremism worldwide - made all of us feel unsafe in our own countries.

the most interesting issue I've read is the Tibetan protests and how China is censoring them.  It's amazing how the gov't can censor the entire country's internet access there on a whim.  Also great how other media can breach that limit.

As for other people's answers, I'm sorry to inform you that the United States really started s******g up issues in the "Arab world" over 20 years ago when they placed Saddam in power to hold back Iran.

The biggest change across the world in fifty years seems to have been the mobile phone. It has crossed all economic, religious, cultural barriers. No wars are fought without them, no resistance can function without them.

For such a seemingly small item, it has had a huge impact on virtually every person on earth, its a kind of cheap personal connection to the rest of the planet.

Sexually tranmitted diseases are spreading rapidly throughout the world because of changing views in relationships. We also have an aging population worldwide that is affecting wear our government spends its money. We are also seeing a possible changing balance of power that may see Japan and East Asia and possibly China have much greater influence.
