  1. caused by air getting sorta trapped inside like ur i dnt no stomache lungs or summin (soz i am a bit clueless bout y)

to get rid of then-bending over and drinking upside down works 4 me :)

  2. push pretty hard with your fingers just  above the eybrows down, so you look any. i think its a muscle spazzam in the throat

  3. They start because your breathing is irregular. To stop them just breathe deep even breathes.

  4. It's when your diaphragm goes into spazzams (normal).  Holding your breath for a little while works, or drinking some water (a cup).  Those are really good methods.

  5. I believe hiccups are spasms of the muscles controlling the diaphragm.  I always get rid of them by taking very long, slow, deep breaths while repeating "relax" over and over again in my mind.  Works every time for me.

  6. They are involuntary spasms of the diaphragm.

There are lots of supposed remedies for them and the efficacy varies from person to person.  Some remedies include:

    - Cod liver oil

    - Having someone scare you

    - Holding your breath (pref. underwater)

    - Swallowing (water or dry) several times in succession

    - Being tickled/real laughter

    - Being distracted (e.g. go on a jog)

    - Deep breathing

    - Eating

  7. I don't know what causes them but i know that if you eat some peanut butter, they are gone instently. (:

  8. hiccups comes when the food enters or passes through wind pipe  rather than passing through food pipe or oesophagus.

  9. first hicup cros your middle finger over your pointer finger cures it right away

close your ears REALLY tight for about a minute and no more hiccups

    Drink water

    ummm burp

    try different breathing patterns

Hope I helped give em a try!

  10. this remedy works instantly, every single time.

everyone is always amazed when I tell them this.

go get a jar of peanut butter and a spoon.

get a heaping spoonful of peanut butter.

    swallow it.

your hiccups should be gone right away. sometimes, it might take two spoonfulls. but seriously; it's my only relief from them. and I get horrible hiccups.

  11. you have to increase the amount of co2 in your blood stream to get rid of them, hold your breath.

  12. They are just spasms in your airway. I hold my breath a few times, drink some water, then repeat.

  13. its a fluctuation in your diaphram and i dont know why but water helps

  14. dry diaphram.  Drinking water while holding breath...hold breath, put water in mouth then swallow while breath is still being held...repeat as needed.  Of course there is the tried and true method of being frightened.  Stand on your head...workds for my son. n

  15. I'm no doctor, but when I was little, I was told by my mom that your system is just being funky and that hiccups are perfectly healthy. As for getting rid of them, as crazy as this seems, lying upside down while drinking numerous sips of water should help. :-)

    Good luck!

  16. Not being a medical person, I can't give you the medical cause, but I think I get them from swallowing air.

The cure that never fails for me is to take ten tiny sips of water, while holding my breath.

  17. Go for the peanut butter!!!

  18. dont hiccups gome from hippos?

  19. I believe what caused them had something to do with air not being "breathed" in properly. But I know what always works for me is to take a drink of water, keep it in my mouth, turn upside down [use a bed or couch or wall if need be] and then swallow, wait 10 seconds, get up, and their gone!

  20. Not breathing enough causes them, and breathing (Deep sighs) for awhile, gets rid of them, 3 minutes of sighs gets rid of them.

  21. i dont know what causes them but to get rid of them u just take a regular cup that u drink out of and u put one peice of paper towel on top of it. then u just drink and the water will come out through the holes in the paper towel so u wont even feel like its on there. my cousin taught me it and it actually works. or u can drink a sip of water and then hang off of something (like the edge of the couch) with the water still in ur mouth, then while hanging off of something swallow the water then come back up, this also works.

  22. The only thing my ex-boyfriend was good for was teaching me how to get rid of the hiccups. Sit or lay perfectly still (try not to move any part of your body other than the ones required for breathing) and focus on breathing slowly...not so slowly you feel you are deprived of oxygen but sort of a "In, 2, 3, Out, 2, 3" type thing. I do this for about 30 seconds and they are gone.

  23. Drink some water, but leave the water in your mouth, then hold your breath and swallow, and then hold your breath a little bit longer, it works usally for me!

  24. It's a muscle spasm in your diaphragm. Lie on a flat surface for 10 seconds, exhaling and inhaling slowly and deeply. Works like a charm every time for me!
