Know how to do this... 0.954=e^-x(180) ??

0.954=e^-x(180) solve for x

(ps, the e is the one on the calculator, not a variable u solve for)

could anyone tell me how to do this, or tell me how to start this. I have a test tomorrow on this, and i can't get past this quesiton.

  1. Sorry I couldn't help this one baffled me. I was trying t o do it as if I had a test.


  2. Use natural log because it's base e

    ln e .954 = -180x  (e is the base, you don't have to put it in the calculator)

    so then x = -ln.954 / 180

  3. Take the natural log or ln of both sides to get

    ln(0.954) = - 180x

    Then just divide by -180 to get your answer
