Know of any summer programs for rainforest preservation?

im looking for anywhere from a week to a month long rainforest preservation type summer program. where you go somewhere and volunteer for awhile. i've heard of them but cant find them. if you know of anything even somewhat related to this please let me know

  1. No, flying off to do some rainforest preservation. have you done an environmental audit on this venture? and what exactly do you think you'll be doing when you get there? The best way to preserve rainforests is to comsume less, especially palm oil and other poducts which use land from rainforest clearance.

    If you were going by boat and taking direct action against the logging companys, then fair play to you, but no.

    It won't be long before employers start to see through this 'noble volunteering life experience' charade. If any pay any attention to it in the first place, or is it all nepotism anyway?

  2. Flying across two continents to save a tree is a bit hypocritical and counter productive when you think about it.  You can contribute more to saving the rainforest by not wasting your time and money travelling there just to find out you aren't qualified to make a real difference anyway.

  3. Look up Costa Rica rainforest tours online and you'll receive plenty of leads
