Do a savings account work in ebay for receiving some payments?

Or just pay-pal ,credits and cheques?

  1. I only deal with paypal. It's more secure. Then you can transfer that money into your account.


  2. Sort of.  The better way to do it would be to tie your PayPal account to a bank account.   PayPal typically encourages you to do it, and they even require it after a few transactions where you receive funds.

    Any EBay transactions would go through PayPal, so all the other party gets is a Paypal transaction number.  It's less risky than giving out banking information to complete strangers.

    Perhaps a little paranoid, but I'd suggest setting up an isolated chequing account for this purpose, with a few hundred to a thousand bucks at most in it.   Transfer money into and out of it as you need to, but keeping only enough to avoid paying bank service charges.   Isolated, because banks tend to draw funds from other accounts when there's an overdraft, unless you specifically  ask them otherwise.   While it's unlikely, this way, if PayPal's data is ever compromised, all the crooks can get is what's in that one small account.
