  1. What about a Batofen

  2. color is called brindle.  Great dane has long boxy face, could be a mastiff, would have round huge head.  Up ears are Dane, mastiff is floppy but all ears can be cropped to be up (Danes are cropped)  Check out Petside..com

  3. bull mastiff

  4. The color you are describing is a 'brindle'.  As for the dog is it  possible that  it is a pit bull?  Ears up and brindle make me think pit bull.  But, the size of a great dane...they are not.  A mastiff is large but their ears are not up.  Perhaps it was some kind of mixed breed.  I once saw a huge brindle dog that was half dane and half pit.  It was awesome!!  It had the size of a dane but the face of a pit with perfect brindle markings.

  5. With out a picture its going to be nearly impossible to tell you what breed of dog you are looking at. Sounds like the dog has brindle markings... but many different breeds can have this type of markings...

  6. Grey Hound? Doberman Pincher?

  7. maybe it was a cross breed?

  8. Did it look like # 14 here? Click for close up.

  9. not sure from your description.  whatever he is, sounds like he has a brindle coat.  maybe a boxer or mastiff?

  10. Bull Mastiff

  11. Sounds like a mix between a Mastif and a GD.

  12. It could be a Great Dane. I have 4 of them and 1 looks like that... the color is brindle and the dog probably has it's ears cropped. The people at the camp can probably tell you for sure, I'd call them and ask. You can also do a search of all of the types of dogs that people think that it is and see what looks right. It sounds like a dane though!!!!!!

  13. Sounds like a mix...it's hard to tell without a picture...but my guess would be Greyhound/Dane X?  I don't know.  Greyhound's have tiger looking stripes that are kind of faded...and their ears are kind of pointed.  If the dog is super skinny and has a long nose, then it's just a Greyhound...but like I said, it's hard to tell without seeing a picture :)

  14. that sounds like a mastiff dose it kinda look like this?

    if so it's a mastiff

  15. possibly a Presa Canario - but doubtful, Thats what I have

  16. it might be a horse

  17. With that painted picture.... I am voting for a chiuaua in a halloween costume.

  18. that sounds awesome. i wouldn't know i've never seen anything like it lol. ask him.

aww i found a puppy. does it look like this?

  19. Do you have a picture of him?  I have to say I don't think I have ever seen one like you are describing ever in over ten years of working with dogs.

  20. I'm amusing it's not a pedigree (soo it's a cross breed or a mix of whatever) hense the orange and black stripes.

  21. did it look anything like this? http://www.costumedogs.com/wp-content/up...

  22. JUJAJA

  23. probably a mastiff, maybe even mixed with dane

  24. it could be 1/2 Santbernard

  25. sounds like mommie and daddie got a little mixed up

great pyreneese maybe or bull mastiff

  26. the markings you described are brindle.

Bullmastiffs come in brindle.. but they do not have upright ears.

Great Danes also come in Brindle

  27. A Poodle

    Iyme 100%

  28. Pretty positive that would've been Brindle Great Dane with cropped ears.

  29. Hmm..it was probably a mix. The 'Up' ears you describe does sound like a great dane. The brindle(stripes) coloring points towards a Mastiff. They are known for the brindle coloring. That's all I can really say without the help of a pic. But my best guess would be a Dane/Mastiff mix. They are both pretty large breed of dog. Hope this helps...
