Back during the "cold war" we got convinced nuclear warfare was unsurvivable and threw in the towel, while the Soviets (and now Russia to this day) never stopped building shelters or instructing it's citizens how to survive. Now with terrorism a greater concern, the lower yield weapons would be even more survivable, IF people have shelter and know what to do.

  1. i have no idea if ours still exist, or even if it is stocked with fresh supplies or not. we have lived here in southern california for 40 years. the city we live in, also surrounding cities have grown so much, i doubt we have any shelters large enough. we're told now to go to one of the area schools. that's a laugh if some one pushed the nuke button. then again we would blast it with a missile, in space before it got in harms way.

  2. Bill Clinton closed all public shelters, it's every man for themselves...

  3. I don't think any of these shelters exist anymore. I just wish I had a good basement instead of a concrete slab.

  4. Yes I do.  Thank you for asking.

  5. The basement of the local tavern. Where the beer and peanuts are stored.

  6. that's a good question, i have would have no idea where to go.

a basement would be the most practical shelter to set up with food and supplies.
