Lydia Ko happy to be in Ricoh Women's British Open roster

The Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012 is going to be played from September 13-16, at the Royal Liverpool Club, United Kingdom, with the participation of Lydia Ko of New Zealand.
The 15-year-old Ko is the youngest player in the roster of Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012, but her claim to fame is not her age.
The Kiwi star stunned her fans and rivals at the CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012 as she grabbed her first LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) victory by shooting an overall score of 275.
Thanks to her stunning triumph in a field packed with top-ranked LPGA stars, Ko has now made a name for herself in professional golf. However, it was not a pro victory, as the young prodigy is currently playing as an amateur.
Ko will have to battle tough contenders at the Royal Liverpool Club, as the field is quite strong.
Some of the key players confirmed to take part in the tournament include current world number one Yani Tseng, Paula Creamer of the United States, Juli Inkster, Melissa Reid, Catriona Matthew,  Laura Davies, Karen Stupples, Cristie Kerr, Stacy Lewis, Na Yeon Choi, Sun Young Yoo and Shanshan Feng.
Ko may have clinched her first LPGA triumph in grand style, but it will be an uphill task for the rising star to prove her mettle at the coming major battle in the United Kingdom.
Speaking to the media about her plans for the Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012, Ko said she is very happy to find a spot in the prestigious event, and she will try to repeat her Canadian Open performance.
Ko said that her performance has been phenomenal in the current season, as she displayed a solid game in this summer.
Commentators said Ko is delighted to get her maiden win on the LPGA Tour but she is aware that other contenders will not be easy to beat. They pointed out if the Kiwi golfer gets off to a good solid start, it can put her rivals under a little bit of pressure.
“I have had an amazing summer and I feel like it can only get better. I can’t wait to get to England to play in my first Ricoh Women’s British Open,” Ko said.
