Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant: Top individual Performances of the second round of NBA playoffs (Part-2)
Kobe Bryant
The Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar Kobe Bryant averaged 23.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in this year’s National Basketball Association’s (NBA) second round playoffs. The Lakers were one-on-one against the Dallas Mavericks in their Conference semi-finals, but came out humiliated when the Mavericks thrashed them with 4-0 series defeat.
However, their guard Kobe Bryant resisted in all four games and never gave up hope for his team. Bryant went into the first game and stunned the Mavericks with his dazzling ball play when he scored 36 points and five rebounds for the Lakers. On the other hand his brilliant performance was not enough for his team as the Lakers were defeated by the Mavericks 96-94.
In next three games, Kobe also performed with consistent pace. He scored 23 points in the very next game and scored 17 points each in remaining two games. Kobe scored 93 points in all four games for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kevin Durant
The Oklahoma City Thunders’ Kevin Durant had an exceptional run in this year’s playoffs. His individual performance certainly played a huge role getting the Thunder into the Conference finals. Durant played with full thrust through-out the playoffs, but especially in the second round of playoffs his performance remained wonderful as he averaged 26.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
The Thunder played their conference semi-finals against the Memphis Grizzlies and eventually overpowered the Grizzlies 4-3 in the second round playoffs’ best-of-seven series. Kevin Durant showed some superfluous athleticism in all seven games and proved vital for his team in every game.
Durant’s individual performance was much significant in the opening game against the Grizzlies when he scored 33 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Though the Oklahoma City Thunder were outplayed by the Memphis Grizzlies 101-114 in that particular game, but Durant showed the Grizzlies his aggression as he is ready for the next games. Not only Durant played well in the very next game, but he also posted 26 points which helped the Thunder win the game 111-102 while Durant scored 185 points and 64 rebounds total in the second round of playoffs against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Zach Randolph
The Memphis Grizzlies’ forward Zach Randolph truly led his team into the playoffs. Randolph played brilliantly in the first round where he stunned the San Antonio Spurs with his finest performance and helped the Grizzlies defeat the Spurs in the first round of playoffs. He carried his high-quality momentum into the second round against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Randolph played back to front with full thrust against the Thunder and fought well in all seven games. He averaged 22.9 points and 12.3 points in the second round of playoffs.
Randolph played incredibly in the game one where he scored 34 points and 10 rebounds for his team. He gave similar kind of tremendous performance in the game four where he again posted 34 points 16 rebounds. Randolph alone posted 160 points and 86 rebounds for the Memphis Grizzlies in their Conference semi-finals.
