Kobe Bryant, Paul Pierce, Lamar Odom: NBA’s noticeable performances from 31st March
Two games took place in the National Basketball Association on 31st March. Here is an overview of some of the most noticeable performances from the two games.
Boston Celtics vs. San Antonio Spurs
Rajon Rondo has a big hold on the game. He can lift his team’s spirits, and at the same time, makes it tough for the opposition to overtake him. The Celtics had a game of the same nature against the league leading San Antonio Spurs. The Celtics guard contributed
a whopping 22 points and dished out game high 14 assists in over 41 minutes. The player went 11 for 20 from the field and had also a back with five rebounds. With that commendable game was a slate clean of any turnovers, and that deserves him a round of applause.
Kevin Garnett was his usual tenacious self in Boston’s huge victory. The Celtics forward had the game going for the team as he poured in 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds, leaving him just one shy of a double-double. Although the player failed to make
his impact from the long range, but gave an exemplary performance from the field.
Paul Pierce had full control on his game and that resulted in another player scoring in 20’s for the Celtics. The 33-year-old led his team all the way to add more defence to the game as he shielded the ball and ran past the opposition with 11 rebounds, also
notching 4 of 5 free throws in 36 plus minutes of action.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks
Kobe Bryant lived up to his nickname, Black Mamba, as he wrapped himself around the necks of the opposition, choking life out of them. The Dallas Mavericks will not be forgetting the Lakers 33-year-old shooting guard anytime soon. The player produced game
high 28 points as the Lakers routed the Mavericks. He had a contribution of seven points in the 19-2 run that the Lakers took over the opposition in the final 7 minutes and 26 seconds of the game. The player finished on an 8 for 21 shooting from the field
and was even better from the defensive end pulling out 11 of 15 free throws in a short while of 30 plus minutes.
Andrew Bynum succeeded in pinning 18 points and totaling 13 rebounds for the winning team, finishing on a 6 for 9 overall and 6 for 8 free throw shooting.
Pau Gasol shot intensely throughout the game. He had a game that was varying from turnaround bank shots to layups to hooks to dunks resulting in 20 points and seven rebounds. The player finished on a 7 for 14 shooting from the field and collected 6 of 7
free throws in 30 minutes.
Lamar Odom should not be forgotten. The player was awesome throughout the second half, as he hit three 3-pointers in a row and collected 16 points in a row to make it 3 for 4 from the long range. The Lakers forward also grabbed 11 rebounds to leave his mark
on the already impactful win over the Mavs.
