The world of sports has produced many extraordinary players who inspired the world with their epic performances and colossal aptitude. These astonishing players have marked their names in the chronicles of history with their achievements
and victories. One of these include a living legend Kobe Bryant; an American professional basketball player who has proved himself as one of the finest sportsman of all times.
Kobe Bean Bryant plays for Los Angeles Lakers of National Basketball Association (NBA) as a shooting guard.  He had a flourishing high School Basketball career at Lower Merion High School from where he emerged as one of the best
high School basketball players for the country. In recognition of his abilities, he was selected as the number 13th draft pick in 1996 by the Charlotte Hornets, from where he made his way towards the Staples centre.
In his very first year, he became fan favorite by winning Slam Dunk Contest. At that moment everybody knew this young boy had the potential of becoming the world’s greatest basketball player. In a flash, he became the cornerstone
for his team and when paired with Shaquille O'Neal, he thrust the Lakers to three successive NBA championships from 2000 to 2002.
After the three-peat O’ Neal left the Lakers, but Bryant kept on setting milestones. In 2006, he created history by scoring 81 points in a game against Toronto Raptors, the most points scored in a game, second only to Wilt Chamberlain
who scored 100 points. After setting this landmark, Kobe Bryant became the youngest player ever in National Basketball Association to score 20,000 points which he achieved at the age of 29. During 2007-2008, he was honored with the seasons Most Valuable Player
(MVP).
After losing the 2008 NBA finals, Bryant was fully determined to provide his squad another championship. Millions of his fans were anticipating his comeback. Kobe leading from the front provided Lakers with another two consecutive
championships in 2009 and 2010 along with the reward of MVP for NBA finals at both the occasions. He also marked All Star MVP award to his name three times in 2002, 2007 and 2009.
Kobe Bryant is among those few legends who has not only set marvelous records but his presence influenced the team to become invincible. His vigorous play led the team to carry out crucial matches repetitively.  Being the member
of All NBA Team 12 time and All Defensive Team Ten Times makes him the youngest player in history to attain defensive honors. He won a gold medal as well at the Olympics 2008 being a member of USA Basketball Team. Bryant is named as the basketball player of
the 2000s decade by the experts and sporting news.
Experts and fans often compare him with the legendry Michael Jordan and spectators do believe they are experiencing another Jordan Phase. Lakers are still the toughest Team in West and Kobe is once again determined to win the upcoming
2010-2011 championship for the unit going for another three consecutive win once again.
