Kobe Bryant might feel 5 to 10 years younger if the lockout extends - NBA Special
The veteran shooting guard of the Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant has recently undergone a new kind of knee treatment to heal his nagging injury. He is now looking to have some extra time in order to get fully fit and outperform
his opponents once again whenever the next season takes place.
It’s been, more than 14 years since Kobe has been a part of the league, dazzling his fans with his astonishing play. The immaculate player has won several awards and honours during this tenure. Bryant has been able to achieve all
of this because of his relentless hard work.
During this long tenure he had some good moments and some bad, but the toughest situations he faced were injury periods. As, he had endured countless injuries from head to finger to knees and ankles this man has gone through numerous
painful injuries, but still managed to come over them and never allowed these injuries to effect his game. For this very reason Kobe has been also considered as the iron man of the league.
As the dreadful lockout finally struck the league, since the players union and franchise owners failed to develop a consensus over new Collective Bargaining Agreement. Both sides are standing firm over their point of views and
no one is moving an inch from it. Player’s union representative Kevin Durant said we will stick to it until we wouldn’t get a good deal out of it.
While veteran Antawn Jamison said this time the players are more unified and seem ready for the lockout, as they have done their preparations for the bad time. This all indicates in one direction only and that the next season would
barely take place.
In this situation only one player would be sleeping tightly and that would be Kobe, as he is recovering from his knee surgery that took place in Germany last month.
This was an unusual step for Kobe as he underwent a procedure that is still not considered as in definitive and scientists are working on it to make it perfect. The treatment is called platelet-rich plasma therapy, during this
process a small amount of blood is taken from the patient’s arm and then spun into centrifuge, from where platelets are isolated and then put into the injury area, which boosts the process of recovery by stimulating tissue repair.
The PRP process will roughly takes an hour and is a simply procedure as compared to other complicated treatments. However, a visibly old Kobe still require time to heal and more time he gets more effective it would be for him.
The star might also be praying that whole season would wipe out so he could regain his fitness and form, as an extended lockout might also stretch his career. It is expected that the two or three months rest would not be enough
for the veteran and in case if the star makes a comeback in 2012 then he might be feeling five to 10 years younger. This will make his opponents more anxious.
