Kobe Bryant not happy with the performance of his team so far this season – NBA News

After the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the struggling Orlando Magic on Sunday night, everyone knew that Kobe Bryant was not happy with the way his team had performed. Bryant was very happy when the Lakers announced that they had
grabbed Steve Nash and Dwight Howard in the offseason, finally being able to see himself winning the elusive 6th NBA championship. However, all has not gone well for the Lakers this season as they are not even in the top five in the Western Conference
so far, and are losing games to weaker opponents. The Lakers seem lost in the new system incorporated by newly acquired Head Coach Mike D’Antoni, with Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard both seeming lost on the court. Steve Nash is out with injury and the worries
for the Lakers continue to stack up.
Bryant apparently has had enough of this losing Lakers side, and wants everyone to pull their socks up and get the new team and the new system going. Bryant talked to Joe McDonald of Fox Sports West after the loss to the Magic
on Sunday night, and was pissed off at the current state of his team.
“I’ll kick everybody’s a*s in this locker room if it doesn’t happen. It’s the attitude you have to have. Metta (World Peace) is the same way. Dwight (Howard) has it in him as well. Even though he smiles a lot, he cares a lot about
this. Come h**l or high water, this has to get done,” said Bryant.
The biggest problem for the Lakers has been their defence, even with Howard joining them after recovering from back surgery. Both Howard and Gasol are so far lost in this new system, and Gasol’s offensive efficiency has gone down
as well. Bryant said that he understood what Gasol was feeling, but he needed to learn the new system and adjust to it as quickly as possible.
“Pau has to make some adjustments, obviously, to his game. He might not be posting up as much as he likes, but he just has to adjust. The reality is, I’ve adjusted. I’ve never run this many screen-and-rolls in my entire life. But
I’ve worked on it,” added Bryant.
With many games left in the season, the Lakers can easily turn the tide around for their season and become playoff and title contenders. However, they need to plug their holes and get the team united on the new strategy.
