Kobe Bryant or Lebron James??!!?

Question

Who is a better player? I really like them both but in my opinion, I thik Kobe has had more experiance, so I would have to go with Kobe on this one.

What are your thoughts and opinions?

Kobe, i dont follow lebron throughout the whole season, but i had seen the playoffs and kobe is hands down over lebron, lebron is good no doubt, but kobe just has range over lebron cuz lebron was missing a gang of shots from out while i was watching adn kobe was busting most the time. that big game vs the celtics was crazy tho, but i mean, kobe still, you can say lebron scored on the celtics with however many points he had that game, but they still lost. adn to Buddy, you said lebron can do what he wants on the court and kobe cant, i think he can do what he wants on the court seeing he scored 81 points in a game you feel me? i think he just didnt look like he could run the court because he didnt want to look like the ball hog he usually was.

Well Kobe has been a better player in the past, and you're right he was more expierience. But from this year on I think its Lebrons turn. He's still very, very young.

I like them both too, think that they are both incredible players and are definetly the best in the NBA. Whos a better player? I'd have to say Lebron James, people who say he is all hype obviously don't watch basketball because he does things most can never do. He is amazing and is still so young its scary to think this guy can get even better.

but kobe is better.. ive seen kobe score 5 points in his first half then 27 in the second... meaning he can play when he wants to

King James because he has better averages in every offensive category than Kobe and plays better defense. I don't see how in the world people say that Kobe is better when the stats show that he isn't better than LeBron.

until Lebron gets to the big game, Kobe has everything on him. Kobe's got the rings and the appearances at the big game, so his experience has shown us that he's better. Lebron always does good during the season, then something goes off in his head during the playoffs that says "choke!"

Kobe is by far better than Lebron, the numbers favor Lebron; but that's because he doesn't have any help. Kobe has a better jump shot and is able to score from anywhere at anytime. If you double Lebron then you shut him down.

For now it is definitely Kobe Bryant. The Kobe Bryant era is still not over and is more likely going to end with Finals victory. Kobe Bryant is one of the few that has the experience and talent to offset LeBron. Hence, he was named captain of Team USA over LeBron. LeBron, however, is the future, no doubt. As Kobe ages into his 30's, LeBron is just going into his prime. Both are incredible at scoring and superior over anyone else, offensively. What makes Kobe better is his experience, will and defense. LeBron might have a bit more athleticism and the rest of his skills can easily improve. Single-handedly bringing your team into the Finals definitely puts you in the best player category. However, playing in the weak East, LeBron has an easier time than Kobe. The best player as of now is Kobe Bryant. LeBron has provided many highlights but Kobe has done it for a decade. There is only one Mr.81 as of now.

Whether you are a Laker fan or not, a Kobe hater or not, if you know the game of basketball then the answer is Kobe Bryant.

If you want to make an argument for Lebron James I can understand that. In terms of just statistics, for the 2007-2008 regular season Lebron is slightly better. Based on Hollinger's Player Effiency Rating (PER), which is a rating of a player's per-minute productivity, Lebron is "King":

But Kobe is among the league's best in terms of statistics as well, and to determine who is "better" we have to go beyond just numbers. Kobe is a notch above Lebron right now. Both players are incredible offensive forces, able to create their own shots and score at will. But Kobe Bryant is clearly a better defensive player. He is an 8 time All-Defensive Team selection. How many times has Lebron James earned that honor? Zero.

This past season Kobe led his team to more wins, went deeper in the playoffs...and he did it in a tougher conference. In addition, Kobe has more playoff experience and three championship rings on Lebron. Until both of their careers are over we won't be able to make a final judgement, but as of right now Kobe Bryant is clearly the best basketball player playing right now.

If you were to poll those with the most professional basketball knowledge, such as fellow NBA players, NBA coaches, GM's, the media that covers the NBA, and other NBA executives, they would overwhelmingly agree that Kobe Bryant is the best player in the world right now.
