Kobe Bryant remains silent on Los Angeles Lakers new coach Mike Brown: NBA Update
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers legendary shooting guard Kobe Bryant was quite vocal on how he wants to exterminate the homelessness in his city for the youth however the National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar maintains
his silence on Lakers new head coach Mike Brown.
The 32-year-old Kobe arrived at a non-profit organization in Hollywood with his wife Vanessa Bryant as they announced the preparation of their Family Foundation, an organization focusing on improving the lives of families and youth
in Los Angeles.
During Bryant’s first public appearance since Lakers hired the former Cleveland Cavaliers’ coach Brown, the All-star refused to comment when he was asked questions regarding Mike and said, "Right now is not the time nor the place.
We're here to focus on bigger issues, greater issues, and that's these kids that are here at the back. It's not fair to them. When the time comes, I will address that, but right now is not that time."
It has become pretty evident that Kobe has been angling for Brian Shaw, Lakers assistant coach over the past few years and wanted Shaw to replace the hall of famer Phil Jackson. Bryant’s vote became official for Brian when Jackson
confirmed his retirement from the world of NBA after the 2010-2011 season.
Kobe endorsed Shaw as the successor of Phil and said, "I feel all of the players believe in coach B-Shaw. We have such a rapport with him. He's been with us for such a long time. We all have a bit of a bias towards him. I don't
want to get in the way of management. But we've all kind of had our eye on him for a while."
Another big reason for Bryant’s silence is that the franchise hired the 41-year-old Mike without discussing it with their influential player. The management regretted the way Brown’s decision went down and the team executive Jim
Buss said, "Looking back on it, we should have contacted Kobe,"
There is no doubting the brilliance of Mike who spearheaded the Cavaliers on the top during his five successful years with the team. Brown also polished the hidden talent of LeBron James who supports Lakers’ hiring of Mike. However
the way things are going at the moment with Bryant, the team can expect a lot worse than a sweep in the play-offs if the chemistry between Kobe and Brown don’t change.
Bryant is the best player of the league and a big reason for Lakers’ irresistible success since more than a decade. The management needs to win the confidence of Kobe and come up with something to start things working.
