Kobe Bryant says he would love to play alongside LeBron James - NBA Update
Imagine if all the best players in the league were in the same team.
The NBA would be dull because it would be a completely one sided affair and only one team would lift the title every season. With those players scattered around, it makes NBA all the more thrilling.
Anyway, elite players in the league always wish to play along with the best in the business.
On Wednesday night, Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers was asked about who is the player he would love to play alongside. His answer was, as expected, Miami Heat’s “LeBron James”.
“It’s a tough question because I’ve played with a lot of great players being on the Olympic team,” Bryant said. “I think that the player I would probably play with the most where the pieces would fit would be myself and LeBron [James], believe it or not, because he’s more of a facilitator and I’m more of a scorer. … He’s a modern version of what Oscar [Robertson] was. He just puts up genius numbers.”
LeBron is easily the most dominant force in the league at the moment and Kobe is not far behind. With LeBron as the playmaker and Kobe as the scorer, it would surely be a treat to watch.
Bryant has been in the NBA for quite a while now and he has played with immensely talented players in that period. Even at the moment, he has players like Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol in the team and the Lakers are one h**l of a tough unit. However players like LeBron are in a whole different league. LeBron not only scores at will, he makes other players around him look good and although Kobe doesn't need to prove anything, the LeBron impact on his game will be a dream scenario.
LeBron is one of the best playmakers in the game. He has great vision and a good knack for finding the open man. These qualities compliment Kobe’s predator instincts perfectly.
LeBron and Kobe have played together in the Olympics and the exhibition games a lot of times but playing in a regular NBA game for the whole NBA season would be something completely different.
Kobe’s is in his mid 30's now and would be retiring in few years, so it does not look like Kobe’s dream would ever be fulfilled. However if the merger ever happens, it would be one delightful sight.
