Kobe Bryant slams Los Angeles Lakers management for the Pau Gasol trade saga - NBA Update
The NBA season is entering its 4th month and it looks like Los Angeles Lakers have still not gotten over Chris Paul’s trade to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Talks about possible trade of Pau Gasol in March are gaining intensity with every day and all this is affecting the dressing room atmosphere and the team’s progress.
Gasol is disturbed and is not performing up to his potential - his lowest season numbers are there to boot.
The situation seems to be taking a toll on Lakers star Kobe Bryant, and he recently slammed the team owners and management. Bryant wants the Lakers to make a quick decision on Gasol - either let him go immediately or don’t trade
him at all.
"Basketball is such an emotional game, you got to be able to have all of yourself in the game and invested in the game. We didn't have that," Bryant said. "Pau, it's hard for Pau because of all this trade talk and all this other
stuff, it's hard for him to kind of invest himself completely or immerse himself completely into games when he's hearing trade talk every other day. I wish management would come out and either trade him or not trade him."
According to him, if it was in his hands, he would have never traded Gasol.
“I'd rather them not trade him at all. If they're going to do something, I wish they would just (expletive) do it. If they're not going to do it, come out and say you're not going to do it”
Gasol, who has helped the team to two NBA championships in 2009 and 2010, too wishes the same for himself. All his success at the big stage has come from playing for Lakers and although Los Angeles and Gasol are off to a disappointing
start in the season, Pau still believes in this team and wants to be a part of it in the future.
He knows it is not in his hands, however and exclaimed that the trade if needed to be done should be done immediately, so he can focus on his next assignments.
Lakers new coach, Mike Brown also holds the same view and has requested Gasol to not focus on the trade rumours.
No matter what the team management decides about Gasol, it is good to know that his team mates (Kobe) are on his side.
