Andrei Kobelev has lamented Krylia Sovetov Samara’s Russian Cup exit and has urged the Russian outfit to alter the situation by winning against Spartak Moscow
Russian Premier League underdogs, Krylia Sovetov Samara, got themselves eliminated from the Russian Cup after suffering a 2-1 defeat against Anzhi Makhachkala at Dynamo stadium (Makhachkala) on Wednesday.
The Wings of the Soviet looked decent in the first-half of the enthralling encounter after scoring an early goal but their joy turned into despair after throwing away their lead by concede twice in the second period.
The Samara-based club recorded their latest defeat after their disappointing performance in the Russian Premier League against Dynamo Moscow where they dig deep for an equalizer for more than an hour in the game.
In aftermath of the outcome, Andrei Kobelev has lamented back-to-back defeats against Dynamo and Anzhi, saying that
The fact that the Green-white-blue have not recorded a league win since their 3-2 thumping of Mordovia Saransk back in mid-September makes the boss unhappy with the situation, who believes that his side needs a stick.
“The game against Dynamo was different as they played on the counterattack, with fast players such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Kuranyi-c20736. Therefore, it was difficult for us to take possession and have a territorial advantage.”
“I've spent my entire adult life at Dynamo as a player and coach, so it was really disappointing to lose.”
“But I think we had more scoring chances against Anzhi. The team collapsed defensively at the end. So, we need to shape up that part of the game.” The former Zenit St. Petersburg man was quoted as saying.
Krylia will now play their next league tie against Unai Emery’s men and Kobelev believes that the upcoming match against Spartak Moscow can give them a chance to alter the situation in their favour.
As things stand, the Feather are at the 12th spot on the league table and trail the top-spot by 17 massive points.
Commenting on the upcoming league tie against the Spartachi, Kobelev told his side to forget about their cup exit and urged them to climb up the league table by claiming all three points against the Moscow-based club.
