Kochi Tuskers Kerala captain Jayawardene happy with Sreesanth’s behaviour – IPL news
Kochi Tuskers Kerala skipper Mahela Jayawardene is completely satisfied with his teammate Shanthakumaran Sreesanth’s behaviour so far in the Indian Premier League.
Enormously delighted to see his side back on the winning ways, Jayawardene lauded Sreesanth for his fantastic effort against the Virender Sehwag-led Delhi outfit on Monday.
Jayawardene and company outclassed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils and sealed an emphatic seven-wicket win in the 41st IPL match on April 2, 2011.
After electing to field first, the Kochi bowlers bowled fabulously and restricted the Daredevils to a mediocre 140. Sreesanth, with his excellent bowling figures of 1 for 24 in 4 overs, was Kerala’s pick of the bowlers. Chasing the target of 141, the Kochi
top order did a fine job and overcame the total convincingly in just 15 overs.
Jayawardene said that the aggressive attitude helps Sreesanth to perform better and the explosive fast bowler needs to be left to his natural instincts.
“Honestly, he (Sreesanth) has been ok. He has toned down a bit. We did not play him in a few games because of conditions but he bowled brilliantly in the last two games. Sometimes, you need to leave him to be a little aggressive and at times you need to
talk to him,” Jayawardene said of the Indian speedster.
Sreesanth, who was a part of India’s ICC World Cup 2011 winning playing eleven, has always been in the news because of his over aggressive attitude on the field. However, Jayawardene vowed not to curb the natural attitude of the Indian pacer.
With their fourth triumph in 9 IPL games, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kerala-c803 men have jumped up to the sixth spot in the standings. The captain hoped that the victory against the Daredevils would help the players in boosting their confidence and continue with the same performance
in the upcoming games.
“We would love to have that consistency in Twenty20 but if you see we have lost some games in the last two overs. Hopefully, with this win we can get some momentum,” the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 skipper added.
Meanwhile, the classy right-hander heaped praise on his bowlers for putting in their one hundred percent to restrict the Daredevils to a small total.
