The ongoing IPL (Indian Premier League) has witnessed yet another awe-striking clash between Mahela Jayawardene’s Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Gautam Gambhir’s Kolkata Knight Riders as Kochi defeated the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knight-c71599 Riders by six runs at the Eden Gardens Kolkata.
The match had all the hallmarks of a splendid contest between the two sides, as throughout the match both sides kept on dominating each other.
After winning the toss KKR chose to field first, a decision that went well for the team as the bowling brigade of the Shahrukh http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 owned team – KKR-managed to restrict Kochi to a meagre total of 132 runs on a slow track.

One thing which needs to be remembered is the fact that Kochi have been winning matches in the tournament merely because of their phenomenal batting from the top five batsmen. Unfortunately today, the batsmen failed to register a formidable total for their

Nonetheless, Kochi seems to be in a habit of leaving the spectators with eyes wide open every time when they walk onto the field in winning-match form. This time their highly underrated bowlers managed pull off a victory by restricting KKR’s formidable batting
line-up to just 126 runs.
The KKR innings was opened by Jacques Kallis and Manvinder Bisla. Kallis who had been doing so well in this season was quickly removed by Vinay Kumar, as he was caught by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kedar-Jadhav-c1782 at the deep square leg boundary. The KKR opener only scored six runs off
nine deliveries.
This was an extremely encouraging sign for Kochi as they had managed to remove the danger man. Next to go was the skipper Gambhir as his middle stump was uprooted by an unplayable delivery of RP Singh. He scored just three runs.

Meanwhile, on the other end, Tiwary kept cool and calm as he saw wickets fall like candles on a birthday cake.
After Shakib, KKR sent in their 'knight in shining armour' Yusuf Pathan to get them out of the mess they had gotten themselves into by batting irresponsibly. This was surely not KKR’s night as Pathan ended up giving a catch to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Muttiah-Muralitharan-c78157 off a

It was then Tiwary to go as he was stumped on the last delivery of the 17th over. The batsman was completely beaten by Jadeja’s wide delivery. It was now curtains for KKR as their last hope (Tiwary) had departed after scoring 46 runs.
KKR needed 14 runs off the last over which proved too much for the lower order batsmen to chase as Vinay Kumar bowled an excellent last over helping his side clinch yet another trilling victory.
From Kochi both RP Singh and Jadeja grabbed two wickets in their four overs. Jayawardene was named as the Man of the Match for leading his team to another hard fought finish.
Earlier, while batting first, Kochi openers Brendon McCullum and Jayawardene gave a decent start as they scored 23 and 25 runs. However, after them it was only Ravindra Jadeja who managed to score 29 runs as the rest of the batsmen failed to score freely
against the tight bowling by the KKR bowlers.
From KKR Shakib Al Hasan and Yusuf Pathan took three wickets each, paralysing the Kochi batting line-up. Brett Lee proved to be expensive as he took just a wicket in his four overs by conceding 33 runs.
With this victory, Kochi have grabbed the third place in points table.
