Question:

Kodak M753 lens error without rough treatment?

I recently bought a Kodak M753. It was a great camera -- for one day. That first night I left it on. The next morning the camera was off but the lens was still out, which I thought was very odd because our old Kodak retracted the lens when it shut down. When I tried to turn it on, it made a grindy noise like the lens was trying to change position, then shut down. I changed the battery, recharged the battery, left the camera without a battery for hours then put it back in with the hope that it would somehow reset itself, but no such luck. All it says is "lens error 122,1,0,0". Sometimes it lets me get to the "reset date and time" screen before it dies (but doesn't allow any interaction on that screen).

The thing was never dropped, or even handled roughly, just left on. Any ideas on how to fix this?

  1. You can try gently to push the lenses back in. You can also send it in to get repaired, for free [maybe, i'm not too sure about it being free]- since you didn't dropped it or anything.

Here's the site to send in for repairs, and to also see how much it costs.
