Question:

Kodak M883 Charging issues?

Just got my second camera after sending the first one back due to it not charging with the USB cable. This camera is supposed to charge with the usb cable as is clearly stated in the manual. The other alternative is to buy an ac adapter (sold separately of course). Has anyone figured out how to get this pos to charge properly? What is the trick? I am about to send this one back and buy a different camera.

  1. Well what happens when you plug it in?

It nothing or Windows gives you an error then the USB port used does not have enough power (common problem). Try plugging it into a different USB port. The ones on the back of your computer near the keyboard connector is usually best. It's best if you charge from a desktop PC (not a laptop) as they give more and better power.

Note: Energy efficient PCs will not charge your camera while they are off, hibernating or sleeping.

If you do have to buy a charger, an iPod one (with USB connector) will work just fine. They're usually easier to find and provide sufficient power. Whatever you do, don't ever lose your cable.
