Kodak m883 problems?

Question

my kodak easyshare camera is really messed up. when i turn it on it makes a funny noise and trys to focus and then shuts off. it is not dead and i tried to charge it, it just wont work. before this the camera ruined my memory card also. does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Well, I wish I had the answer to that problem because I am having the exact same thing happening to mine. It was working perfectly fine yesterday and when I went to turn it on today, it came on and made this almost grinding-like noise a few times while zooming in and then out and then it shut itself off. I am so aggravated because I got about 6 months ago. If anyone has any suggestions please let us know..... Thanks.
