Kofi Kingston vs. Dashing Cody Rhodes with the ‘Big Red Monster’ Kane destroying everyone in the end
The Money in the Bank Ladder Match is just two days away, and everyone is focusing on the most (dangerous and) exciting match in WWE. Kofi Kingston, who is the current Intercontinental Champion, had to face ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes on the last Friday Night SmackDown. Kofi Kingston is also the poster boy for the Money in the Bank Pay Per View. This was an important match for both wrestlers, as a victory meant a confidence boost before the crucial Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
It was the Intercontinental champion, Kofi Kingston, who initially entered the arena and received a hugely positive response from the crowd. The cheers turned into boos as ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes entered the arena. Cody Rhodes has been acting in an arrogant manner lately. His period of arrogance started when he was named as the most handsome wrestler in a poll where only the divas of WWE casted their votes.
The match started as ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes trapped the neck of Kofi Kingston between his legs. Rhodes then attacked Kofi Kingston from behind and went for the cover, but Kingston easily kicked out before the referee could count to three. Rhodes then picked up Kofi Kingston high in the air and dropped him on the ring ropes. Kofi Kingston screamed in pain as he felt the pressure building on his abdomen.
‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes again went for the cover, and this time Kofi Kingston had to gather all his strength so that he could kick out before the count to three. Cody Rhodes was clearly dominating the match, and it seemed that the cunning manoeuvres of ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes might prevail over the raw fighting ability of Kofi Kingston.
But then Kofi Kingston changed the momentum of the match with an extraordinary wrestling manoeuvre. Kofi Kingston put his legs around the neck of ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes and then twisted his own legs. Rhodes rolled in the air and fell on the ring floor. Kofi Kingston then got up to deliver knockout punches to the shoulders and abdomen of Cody Rhodes. Kofi Kingston then executed a flawless vertical drop kick to the jaw of Cody Rhodes. Rhodes was hopeless and his effort to counter the fighting style of Kofi Kingston was not producing positive results.
Then Kofi Kingston climbed the steel ring post and executed a cross body on Cody Rhodes. Cody Rhodes was down and out, and it seemed that Kofi Kingston would go for the cover and finish the match. But before Kofi Kingston could go for the cover, everything turned red, as the Big Red Monster Kane started walking towards the ring.
One could easily tell that Kane was not coming to the ring with good intentions. Kane has been behaving strangely for the past few weeks and has been destroying everyone who comes in the way of his quest to find the person who attacked The Undertaker. Kofi Kingston tried to put up a fight against Kane, but to no avail. Kane grabbed the Intercontinental Champion and executed the dreaded Choke Slam. During a Choke Slam, Kane picks up his opponent high in the air and then bangs him on the ring floor.
Then it was the turn of Cody Rhodes to meet a similar fate, as Kane choked him, lifted him high in the air and then banged him on the ring floor. Both wrestlers were left lying unconscious on the ring floor. There seems to be no end to the carnage by Kane. The big question is that will the wrestlers accept the behaviour of Kane as the fate of SmackDown, or will someone rise to the challenge of the Big Red Monster?
