Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler on Smack Down
Dolph Ziggler is receiving a big push in the world of professional wrestling and this push has little to do with his in ring athletic ability. Dolph Ziggler is the boyfriend of the official consultant to the Smack Down General Manager, Vickie Guerrero. Vickie Guerrero is helping Dolph Ziggler by scheduling his matches with the mainstream wrestlers in Smack Down. Last Friday night was no different when it was announced that the arrogant Dolph Ziggler will face the current Inter Continental Champion, Kofi Kingston in a one on one wrestling match. Both wrestlers were participants of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match from the Smack Down roster and both failed to grab the briefcase hanging high above the ring.
The Inter continental Champion, Kofi Kingston was the favorite before the start of the match as Kofi Kingston has beaten many wrestlers to win his golden title belt. Kofi Kingston hails from Ghana, West Africa and is a promising future World Champion. Dolph Ziggler is also a talented wrestler and two weeks ago he defeated both MVP and Chavo Guerrero in a triple threat match to qualify for the Money in the bank Ladder Match. However this contest was different as Dolph Ziggler was about to clash with one of the best wrestlers in the world.
The match started with a heavy kick by Dolph Ziggler to Kofi Kingston’s abdomen. Dolph Ziggler then created momentum by jogging in the ring and then knocked down Kofi Kingston by running into him. The competition started to heat up as both wrestlers traded heavy blows with each other. Kofi Kingston showed some great in ring athleticism by jumping and then knocking down Dolph Ziggler with his shoulder. Vickie Guerrero, the Official consultant to the Smack Down General Manager was worried as Dolph Ziggler remained at the receiving end during the start of the fight.
Kofi Kingston then engaged the wrestling fans around the ring as he cornered Dolph Ziggler and delivered seven hard core punches. It was amazing how wrestling fans counted every punch of Kofi Kingston. Dolph Ziggler responded to the fighting tactics of Kofi Kingston by delivering a neck breaker. Kofi Kingston was already in pain from the Money in the Bank Ladder Match where his neck got injured during the fight when he was choke slammed by Kane.
Dolph Ziggler went on a rampage and employed every tactic in his arsenal to beat and defeat Kofi Kingston. However Kofi Kingston always kicked out whenever Dolph Ziggler tried to go for the cover and the referee started counting to three. The match took a controversial turn when Vickie Guerrero indirectly helped Dolph Ziggler by grabbing Kofi Kingston’s leg. This gave enough time to Dolph Ziggler who executed the Zig Zag and smashed the back of Kofi Kingston on the ring floor. This was a blatant disregard for the rules of professional wrestling.
Then Dolph Ziggler executed his dreaded submission move called the Sleepers Hold and started applying pressure on the neck of Kofi Kingston to stop the flow of blood and oxygen. Kofi Kingston moved like a wild animal and desperately tried to grab ropes on any side of the ring. But Dolph Ziggler maintained a firm grip on the neck of Kofi Kingston and kept applying the pressure. It did not take long and Kofi Kingston felt on the ring floor like a fallen tree.
The referee checked the condition of Kofi Kingston and determined that Kofi was unable to fight and was in an unconscious state. The referee asked the bell boy to ring the bell and awarded the match to Dolph Ziggler. This win will serve to increase the arrogance of Dolph Ziggler who has defeated many acclaimed wrestlers of the professional wrestling world by applying his submission move.
