Koheim Fukazawa overpowers Boys 200m butterfly heats – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Koheim Fukazawa of Itoman overpowered the qualification rounds of the Boys 200m butterfly on last day of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Sunday, September 23.
Fukazawa dictated terms to his opponents in the distant butterfly event. He faced ruthless aggression of Ikuya Matsumura in the four-lap event but succeeded in outperforming him over the finishing blockade for top position.
Fukazawa remained just a stroke ahead of his following swimmer and made his way to the finishing wall for first position with the timing of 2 minutes and 04.03 seconds.
He was chased by Matsumura, who stayed only 0.26 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing blockade as second best finisher by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 04.29 seconds.
Matsumura was followed by Ryo Fujimoto, who stayed just 0.31 seconds apart and ended his race in third place by producing a time of 2 minutes and 04.60 seconds.
Fourth finest spot of the race was obtained by Takuya Tsuda of Itoman, who remained 2.05 seconds apart and settled on the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 06.65 seconds.
Tsuda was chased by Issei Takeda of Itoman, who remained 0.25 seconds behind and hit the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 06.90 seconds for fifth place.
Takeda was chased by Chris Grimmett-Norris of NCSA, who remained 1.06 seconds away from upsetting his former finisher and tapped the wall for sixth position with an effort of 2 minutes and 07.96 seconds.
Seventh best qualification spot of the race was obtained by Benjamin N Southern of NCSA, who stayed 0.65 seconds behind and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 08.61 seconds.
Following that, the audience witnessed exhausting efforts of Southern’s teammate, Ryan Kao, who secured last qualification spot of the race.
Kao remained 0.80 seconds slower from his former finisher and emerged on the finishing end as eighth position holder with a timing of 2 minutes and 09.41 seconds.
In addition, Fukazawa expressed contentment over his victory and shared his plans of achieving the same in the playoff.
