Kohlton Norys impresses in Men’s 100m freestyle final - 2011 USA Swimming Sectionals
Kohlton Norys of AUB impressed the arena in the Men’s 100m freestyle meet, on the concluding day of the 2011 USA Swimming Sectionals.
The 22-year-old Norys, who qualified as the second fastest swimmer into the finals, demonstrated his astonishing skills in the final round, by occupying the top spot on the podium in a time of 50.16 seconds. He was followed by the fastest qualifying swimmer,
Evan M Reed of NCAC, who failed to overcome Norys’s effort and stood on the podium for the silver medal, by posting a time of 50.53 seconds.
For the third fastest spot on the podium, Reed was followed by Bryan Lundquist of RAYS, who earned the crowd’s respect by maintaining his position in the final round, as he clinched the bronze medal with a timing of 50.75 seconds.
Lundquist was followed by Tyler W Reed of WA, who stayed only 0.23 seconds behind her and settled on the finishing wall as the fourth fastest swimmer of the 100m swim. In the meantime, Drew A Modrov of AUB, who qualified in the finals with a fifth fastest
time of 51.12 seconds, failed to improve his timing in the final round and displayed a sluggish swim of 51.13 seconds for fifth position. Modrov was 0.34 seconds faster than his closest swimmer, Jameson Hill of ABSC, who concluded his swim in a sixth best
time of 51.47 seconds.
Similarly, the 19-year-old Hill was only 0.15 seconds behind his subsequent competitor, Michael Arnold of GOLD, who completed his two-lap race in a time of 51.62 seconds to clinch the seventh position of the event. The 21-year-old Arnold was marginally away
from his following swimmer, Eric L Bruck of Clemson Aquatics, who secured the eighth fastest spot with a timing of 51.77 seconds.
Norys was delighted with his tremendous win in the two-lap freestyle event, whereas, he expressed that he will train hard to exceed the expectations of his fans. In addition, the winners collected medals for their stupendous efforts after the completion
of the session.
