I have a 100 gallon tank. I'm wanting to add more fish in to make it interesting. Something colorful or cool would be nice. Any suggestions? Please name me a couple of fishes

(many as you like)..I really want quite a selection :]

And I know my Koi will grow, its just an alternative place for my Koi. I have a pond outside.

Thank you.

  1. Koi are big excreters like any other goldfish relative

....do not mix tropicals with Koi or goldfish

....although, some catfish and plecos are compatible iwth the dirty water situations that Koi and Carp create

...so after you move the koi to the pond, then clean the water wellllllll

....consider the cichlids...the dwarf or South American cichlids are diverse in colrs and very easy to keep and include the angel fish too

....in 100 gallons a large group of angels with many live plants, interspersed with 5 or 6 brightly colored S.A.Cichlids would be beautiful

...avoid African cichlids, due to their high aggression and lack of comapitibility with others

...avoid discus, due to water sensitive issues

  2. koi are fast swimmers so avoid fancy goldfish, you can add common goldfish, shubunkin to add your koi collection.

  3. Depending on how many koi you have, you probably shouldn't add any. Koi and goldfish are messy, and need lots of water each to stay healthy and happy. Since koi are coldwater fish, only goldfish or other coldwater fish could be their tankmates, and if you have more than three koi or so, I would say definitely don't add anything. The koi are probably already somewhat crowded.
