Kolkata v South Australia: Michael Klinger heaps praise on Callum Ferguson and Daniel Christian – Cricket News Update
Kolkata Knight Riders are on verge of elimination as they suffer yet another defeat in Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) tournament. KKR were playing against South Australia at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792, on Tuesday,
September 27.
South Australia set a total of 188 runs; KKR in their reply could only manage 169. SA skipper Michael Klinger was over the moon after the win.  For the Australian club, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daniel-Christian-c1308 played brilliantly. The
duo chipped in with 70 and 42 runs respectively, earning praise and appreciation from their skipper.
“The innings from Callum and Christian were unbelievable. Those two were fantastic, they pushed a lot of twos and ran really hard when the pitch slowed up,” admired Klinger.
Ferguson’s pains won him the Man of the Match award. The batsman revealed that it was hard to score runs in the beginning but after spending sometime in the middle it became easier.
"It was difficult early on, took a while to get in. Christian came in and made it easier for me by hitting some boundaries. It was Yusuf's last over and we thought we would attack him. We finished the innings well,” said Ferguson.
South Australia was without their premium strike bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SW-Tait-c2616, who was dropped for the clash against KKR. Klinger revealed that the decision to drop Tait was taken after inspecting the pitch, which supported spin bowling.
Klinger said, “We left out Tait purely because of the conditions. Tait, with extra pace, on this wicket is slightly easier to way probably.”
KKR skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447 was shattered after suffering back to back losses. The left-hand batsman believes that every now and then, there were lapses, both in batting and bowling, which led to their demise.
Kolkata will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next fixture. The match will take place on Thursday, September 29, at the same venue. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843 on Saturday, October 1,
in a match which will also take place at Bangalore.
