The former Arsenal defender was a bit part player for City last season as they won their first league title in over 40 years but now things are looking bleak for his future at the club as he is looking towards offers from the
Middle East and continental Europe...
Toure has admitted that he might after all opt to stay at Manchester City rather than seek a move away from the Premier League champions towards Middle East or another European league. The former Arsenal man was only a bit part
player in the last league campaign for the league champions.
But he did play his part as Manchester City defeated Manchester United in the Premier League title race and won the title on goal difference. No with just a year left on his contract, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kolo-c21278 Toure is in a precarious situation where
he has to make a decision, a decision to either stick with City or seek a future elsewhere in club football.
The Ivory Coast defender fell out of favour with Roberto Mancini after he was punished with a lengthy suspension for proving to be negative on a drugs test and now Manchester City might not even offer him a new contract as there
is talk of a move for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 by the Citizens.
Toure said, “I did speak to the people there but I’m just focusing on City. I’m a City player, I still enjoy it here, and you can see that. I love playing at the same club as my brother [Yaya Toure]. But we will see what will happen.
I’ve got one year left on my contract and that’s it.”
He added, “I am still at City but you never know the future. For me the most important thing is every day I’m at City I’ll give 100 per cent. I won the title with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in 2004 and it is harder to defend it the following season.
Every game will be like a cup final because every team will give 100 per cent to beat City”
Toure will hope that if he does stay at Manchester City he can get more first team action and perhaps he can regain the confidence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 for the upcoming Premier League season.
