Kolonel Kirkup likely to be competitive in Racinguk.com Nursery
Kolonel Kirkup will be the one to beat in the Racinguk.com Nursery at Catterick in England on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. He will be up against some very good runners and will not find things easy in the class-3 event.
However, the young runner has the ability to handle pressure well and he will not allow anyone else to dominate the proceedings in the end. Speed will be crucial in the 7 furlong race, which has a cash prize of £5,822 for the winner.
George Rooke and Exzachary will also be in contention of a victory and they cannot be taken lightly at all. The former of the two has got a better chance of fighting for the top spot, thus he has been given the best odds for victory by the bookmakers. He
will enter the event with a starting price of 7 to 2 and will definitely get the attention of the punters.
The two-year-old colt does not have a lot of experience, but he has been competitive at this level so far. He has participated in just a couple of events until now, but made his team proud with his performances.
During his first ever race, the Kevin Ryan’s trainee was given a pretty decent starting price and he lived up to the expectations of everyone in the end. Although, he was unable to finish on top of the table, yet his speed was good enough, allowing him to
secure the runner up position in the end.
Considering his competitive run, the talented colt was rated as the favourite to win his next race. He did not disappoint his fans and took the top spot by a head distance in the end. A similar run will definitely give him a chance to fight for the second
victory of his career.
On the other hand, it will be a big mistake to take Kolonel Kirkup lightly. He has been priced 4 to 1 and will definitely cause a lot of problems for his opponents. He has participated in a total of three events until now, winning one of them whereas finished
as a runner up on a couple of times.
The Michael Dods’ trainee will be partnered by veteran jockey, P. J. McDonald, who has never accompanied him in the past.
