Manchester City’s centre back and Belgian international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184 has gone on to claim that he is quite happy with his side drawing their game against Chelsea this past weekend, since he feels that a draw was a decent result for the team.
The defender went into the game after he has suffered a knee injury earlier. As a result, going into the game it was a massive doubt if he would be able to come out of the game on both his legs or not.
However, with him managing to play the whole game without any injuries, and with him putting in a rather decent performance, the player ended up being quite happy and satisfied with the result.
When talking about the game, the City captain is reported to have said: "I was on crutches just 48 hours ago"
"I wanted to play for the team. I had said that I wouldn't play if I couldn't give everything I had on the pitch. But I am happy I was able to take part, because it was not the most comfortable game.”
"It's always a difficult away game. I don't think there are many times we come here and win.”
"In the end it was a draw and as a defender I am happy with a clean sheet - I guess that's what I'm going to take out of the game."
Kompany was quite simply the best City player on the pitch in the game. The defender went on to sweep up just about every move http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 made, and he managed to run around and get into the right positions time and time again.
After watching the game, many wondered if City would have been able to draw the game had it not been for Kompany.
The centre back is surely one of the most important players on the City squad list, and should he suffer another injury which sees him sit out on the sidelines for more than a couple of days, the club could end up facing some serious problems.
Nonetheless, it is now up to City to prove their worth and come out with a bang following their draw against the Blues.
