Manchester City skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184 believes that his side have made a significant impact this season, despite trailing Manchester United by 5 points in the league table.
The centre back mentioned that the Eastland side have made significant in-roads in the league this season and said that the Blue Manchester side is hungry for titles.
"For three or four years now we have always improved, this year we’ve improved again. Hopefully we can win the title.”
Manchester City, who trailed their neighbours by three points before their match against Sunderland, were held to a 3-3 draw by the Black Cats at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Manchester United made the most of the slip-up from their local rivals, as they
opened up a five points lead at the top, by beating Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 2-0 at Ewood Park.
The Belgian footballer admitted that the match against Sunderland had dented their Premier League title hopes, but vowed to fight till the very last game. The Citizens had a perfect win record at home before the game.
"With what we have shown at home for the past year or more, we can be disappointed [with the Sunderland result].”
"But in the next three or four days we’re going to start believing again, because there’s no other choice”
Despite the fact that City are currently placed second in the league table, the 25 year old admitted the club’s progression can only be gauged by the amount of trophies won.
"It’s all about winning trophies ultimately, that’s the only thing we want.”
The City boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 is to give tactical advice and the players were
unable to deliver against Sunderland.
Manchester City will take on United in a derby match on the 30th of April at the Etihad Stadium and Kompany said that he was really looking forward to that game. Although he was aware that the title may be in the Red Devils grasps by then, he
maintained the enormity of the match.
He went on to claim that the fact that City are pressing for the league title, is an indicator that the club have made a significant progress and that it is headed in the right direction.
“I would like to stress the fact it shows we have made a lot of progress, the fact we’re playing to win the league.”
He guaranteed that if his team misses out on the title this year, it is only a matter of time before they grab one.
