Konica 7040, use as network printer?

Question

Hi, we had a Konica 7040 donated. the copier tech told me he couldn't get an IP address on something so old, and if he could the network card would cost almost a thousand dollars. Is this true, and is there another way to print from computers to the Konica?thank you
