The former Dynamo Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg sporting director has uttered unflattering comments about the Moscow-based club’s transfer policy in recent years
Konstantin Sarsania, who became FC Fakel Voronezh’s president after spending long time at Dynamo Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg as their sporting director, has blasted Spartak Moscow’s transfer policy, saying that they have over
spent in recent years.
The Russian Premier League club, just like the last two transfer windows, reinforced their squad after spending a large sum this summer.
They reportedly invested 16 million Euros to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Boca-Juniors-c38658 and Schalke 04 respectively.
Sarsania revealed that the Spartachi have signed 29 players, of which 11 player have already moved to some other clubs in different leagues, after investing around 97 million Euros in the last four years.
“Can you imagine they have signed 29 players and spent in the excess of 97 million Euros in just four years? They could have made three teams and if you divide it by 29, it means they have paid more than three million for each
player.”
“This is ridiculous. I think they should have focused on making the backbone of the team stronger. But even if the costs are comparable after signing players who definitely made the team stronger, I do not see logic to sell players
every year.” The former FC Khimki man was quoted as saying.
Sarsania went on to give the Red-Whites an example of the defending league champions, telling them that the St. Petersburg club made expensive yet appropriate signings in the past which helped them in clinching the league title
twice in three years.
“Zenit and Rubin have claimed decent spots without spending too much.” He concluded.
The Russian tactician advised the Russian outfit to stick with their old players for as long as possible, of course if they are helping the team in producing good results, without selling their key players in the near future.
Commenting on Unai Emery, Sarsania is of the view that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 boss can help the Moscow-based club in climbing up the league table.
