Former Dynamo Moscow player urges the Russian Premier League champions to sign at least two players this summer and has commented on Andriy Voronin’s transfer
FC Fakel Voronezh assistant manager, Konstantin Sarsania, has tipped Zenit St. Petersburg to strengthen two positions during the summer transfer window, if they are to retain the Russian Premier League title this time around.
The 44-year-old believes that the Meshki needs to shape up their squad as they are lacking quality players at the moment. He told that Spalletti’s men struggled to find form during the third league round last term after Danny Miguel’s
injury.
There’s little arguing to the statement that Zenit failed to display quality football after the Portuguese star sustained an injury last December. Miguel sustained a leg injury which kept him out for the rest of the season.
The fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771 went back to his parent club, Arsenal FC, after spending a season long loan-spell at Petrovsky stadium worries Sarsania, who believes that Zenit are now in a desperate need of an attacking midfielder
after his departure.
“Zenit need two players, players who can actually make the team stronger, such as was the case with Danny, for which they sacrificed a huge sum. But I think they should not focus on good European level players rather than to do
expensive purchases.”
“One can clearly see that Zenit have struggled to cope without http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 and Arshavin. There is an illustrative gap in the position of an attacking midfielder.” The former Asmaral Moscow player was quoted as saying.
Sarsania, meanwhile, pointed out the fact that Zenit are lacking quality strikers at the moment and gave the example of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Kerzhakov-c4569.
The manager told the Russian outfit that they are lacking goal-scorers upfront as they can not entirely depend on just two strikers.
Asked if the Musora striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Voronin-c6020, is set to join Rubin Kazan this summer, Sarsania has denied such reports.
“I know that his (Voronin) agent is negotiating with several clubs, but I have not heard anything about his transfer to Rubin yet.” He said
