Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong will continue playing as pair in Men’s Doubles category
Malaysia’s top seeds Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong want to continue playing as a pair and the speculations regarding their split up in Men’s Doubles category are quite seem to be wrong.
Kien Keat and Boon Heong, who are World Number Eight at the moment, have shown a wonderful performance in London Olympics as they made it to the semi-final and finished fourth despite being un-seeded shuttlers in the mega event.
Their gutsy performance at Olympics is enough to keep them going as a pair and they showed a wonderful coordination and played with spirit which enabled them to defy all odds to reach into the top-four stage.
However, there was an option in which the coaches were working on splitting them up but after the impressive performance at Olympics, the coach Tan Kim Her gets the perception that they are satisfied with each other.
Kien Keat, who is quite willing to continue playing with Boon Heong, said that there is no reason for their separation.
He further added that they just need a little improvement in their coordination on court and it can be done with small effort. So, there is no need to split them up.
He stated, “I don't see any reason why we should be split as Boon Heong and I have no major issues. If there is anything affecting our partnership, I would say it is communication on court, which is something that can be easily solved. I believe that we
have shown in the Olympics that we can still be a formidable pair and I can't see myself partnering anyone else.”
His partner Boon Heong said, “I believe we are still capable of making it as a top pair and I am happy to continue partnering Kien Keat.”
So, Kien Keat and Boon Heong are expected to continue playing together in the upcoming events as the coaches have not shown any indication of splitting their partnership as a pair.
The reason behind may be that they have shown up a great performance in all of their matches at London Olympics which indicate that they are comfortable in playing with each other.
