Korea’s in-form player Dong Keun Lee showed a spectacular performance and cheered up his home fans by crushing his higher ranked challenger Brice Leverdez of France in Men’s Singles round-of-16 at Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012 in Korea, on Thursday, December
6.
The un-seeded Dong Keun, who has been impressive in all of his matches in this home tournament, put up superb show of flawless badminton and managed to tame Leverdez who was the third seeded player in the tournament.
Korean shuttler was in staggering form in the arena and he did not show any mercy to his higher ranked French challenger and easily wrapped up a spectacular victory in straight sets with a huge margin on the board.
On the other hand, the higher ranked Leverdez tried his best to show his class but failed to shake the confidence of his local challenger. He could not put up strong resistance and eventually lost the match with a humiliating margin.
Dong Keun played with excellent control in his shots and managed to occupy the pace of rallies from initial rallies of the opening game.
