Korea’s Hye Won Eom and Ye Na Jang showed a wonderful performance and reached into Women’s Doubles semi-final after beating Indonesia’s Shella Devi Aulia and Anggia Shitta Awanda in quarter-final clash at Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012 in Korea on Friday, December
7.
The in-form Hye Won and Ye Na, who were top seeds in Women’s Doubles main draw of the event, played in the most promising and dedicated fashion and remained successful in winning the fight in just 35 minutes.
Korean shuttlers were in staggering form as they played with remarkable precision on court and managed to oust their challengers in straight games in a lopsided manner with a comfortable margin on the score board.
Meanwhile, the lower ranked Shella and Anggia failed to show aggression in the arena and they also lost their focus. They conceded many points by hitting negative shots and eventually went down without showing their brilliance.
Hye Won and Ye Na performed remarkably well from the opening rallies of first set as they played with spectacular speed and took over the charge of rallies.
Hye Won and Ye Na progressed with a terrific speed in the first part and remained in lead on score board until the interval.
The fight progressed in the same way after the one-minute break as Hye Won and Ye Na did not lose their commanding position on court.
Hye Won and Ye Na were quite calm and composed in their aggressive player and they did not face any trouble in winding up the first game with a staggering difference of 21-12.
In the following set, Shella and Anggia tried their best but failed to put up strong resistance as they faced a punishing treatment from their local challengers who were playing flawless badminton.
Until the end of first half, the impressive Hye Won and Ye Na stayed in command as they took a wonderful lead on score board.
After the break, Indonesian ladies again failed to show strong performance as their Korean opponent played better game and bagged the set with a wonderful margin of 21-16.
The incredible Korean players remained successful in winning this Women’s Doubles contest in a dominating fashion with a superb 21-12 and 21-16 score on the board.
