Korea’s emerging shuttler Jong Woo Yim displayed his lofty skills in front of his home crowd and remained successful in beating Chinese Taipei’s Chia Hsin Wan at the Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012 in Korea, on Tuesday, December 4.
The local shuttler proved that he has got wonderful skills as he put up spectacular show of attacking and positive badminton and managed to end up the match while taking just 35 minutes.
Korean player was in staggering form in the arena proving his elite class and managed to overpower his Taipei challenger in straight games with a stunning total on the score board.
Meanwhile, Chia Hsin tried his best to prove his worth on court but he failed to play positive badminton at crucial stages and eventually crashed out in opening round without creating a strong impact.
In the first set, it was an interesting fight in both shuttlers put up staggering show of top class badminton and stayed toe-to-toe at the opening stage.
The tempo of the rallies was very fast but Jong Woo managed to control the pace by increasing his speed in all areas of the court.
Korean shuttler remained consistent in his positive play and managed to obtain a slightly strong position until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Chia Hsin could not create trouble for his local rival as he conceded many points by making unforced errors.
Jong Woo continued hitting powerful strokes in targeted areas and grabbed the first game with a staggering margin of 21-18.
The Taipei shuttler geared up his speed to play positive badminton in the first half of second game but he failed to create any pressure on his Korean opponent who was on a different level.
On the other hand, Jong Woo stayed composed on court and he managed to establish a superb lead on the score board until the mid-game interval.
After the break, the lofty Jong Woo continued putting up flawless show of aggressive play and remained successful in winning the set with a one-sided margin of 21-10.
The Korean player showed exit to Taipei’s Chia Hsin in first round by finishing up the contest with a 21-18 and 21-10 score on the board.
