December 8.
The top seeded Ki Jung and Sa Rang, who remained consistent in their positive play throughout the tournament, maintained their upper hand over their un-seeded Taipei rivals and won the match in just 35 minutes.
Korean players were in staggering form in the semi-final battle as they played in a commanding fashion and remained successful in winning this battle in straight games with a huge margin.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Jui Wei and Kuan Hao played well but not enough to put up strong resistance against their top seeded challengers and eventually lost the contest in two sets.
In the first set, the in-form Ki Jung and Sa Rang delivered a superb performance in the arena as they employed all of their shots with a dictating control from initial points.
The phenomenal variations in Ki Jung and Sa Rang’s strokes helped them to continue their superiority against their Taipei challengers on court.
However, the score progressed closely as the Taipei players also showed their aggressive run in the arena and remained successful in staying close to Korean shuttlers until the one-minute break.
The underdog Jui Wei and Kuan Hao failed to create trouble for their rivals after the mid-game interval as they lost their focus in the ending points.
Meanwhile, the positive and aggressive play of Ki Jung and Sa Rang assisted them to claim the opening game with a narrow 21-19 score on the board.
In the second game, Jui Wei and Kuan Hao were again in all sorts of trouble as they failed to play attacking badminton and remained struggling in all areas until the end of opening half.
In the concluding part, the incredible Ki Jung and Sa Rang continued their dominating run in the arena by playing attacking badminton and ended up the game with a comfortable total of 21-15.
Ki Jung and Sa Rang remained successful in winning this Men’s Doubles semi-final in straight games with a reasonable 21-19 and 21-15 score on the board.
